Interim Financial Controller

Kenneth Brian Associates are partnering with a large business based in St Albans on the hire of a Financial controller on an initial 6 month FTC.

As the Financial Controller, you will be working directly with the Finance Director and others across the business to support the growth and development of the business. You will be an integral part of the growth and will support the business delivering a wide function of finance / commercial duties.

The role:

• You will be responsible for the financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting under the guidance and support of the MD.
• Responsibility for preparing month-end, quarter-end, year-end financial accounts including account reconciliations.
• Overseeing month end VAT returns and Intrastats
• You will lead the annual budgeting process, and then perform month end budget analysis, reviewing variances and delivering it to the Senior Management Team.
• Prepare monthly and ad-hoc board reports, including variance analysis and KPI reviews.
• You will consolidate the group accounts and ensure adherence to IFRS.
• Costing across the manufacturing elements of the business
• Lead interactions with audit teams and year-end audit processes

Qualifications & experience:

• Excellent communication skills
• Must be part-qualified or recently qualified (ACCA, ACA, CIMA) or QBE.
• Excellent attention to detail
• Be able to understand, analyse and communicate financial data
• Able to work efficiently as part of a team and manage own workload
• Excellent organisational skills, and ability to prioritise and meet tight deadlines
• Outstanding analytical skills.
