As they continue to grow and evolve, they are seeking a dynamic and experienced professional to join their team as an Interim Head of Category on a 6-month contract basis - outside IR35
Role Overview: As the Interim Head of Category, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and implementing a robust category management structure within the organisation. This is a unique opportunity for an individual with a strategic mindset and proven category management experience, preferably from a distribution or retail background, to make a significant impact on our business.
Responsibilities:
Develop and implement a comprehensive category management strategy aligned with the company's overall business objectives.
Analyse the market, customer needs, and competitor activities to identify opportunities for growth and improvement within each category.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive the development of Category plans, including assortment, pricing, promotions, and placement.
Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure and monitor category performance, and implement corrective actions as needed.
Foster strong relationships with suppliers to negotiate favorable terms, ensure product availability, and drive innovation.
Provide leadership and guidance to the category management team, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.
Utilise data-driven insights to make informed decisions and optimize category performance.Qualifications:
Proven experience as a Head of Category Management or similar role within the distribution or retail industry.
Demonstrated success in developing and implementing category management strategies.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen understanding of market dynamics.
Excellent negotiation and communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Results-oriented mindset with the ability to drive initiatives from concept to execution.Contract Duration: 6 months - outside IR35
