Job description

Reporting to the Interim Head of Property, you will support the property function to scope and oversee a wide range of activities that support our property portfolio. You will work closely with key stakeholders both internally and externally including the wider property team, supply chain partners, landlords and internal finance colleagues. 

 

The role is an initial 12 month fixed term contract and will require national travel on a frequent basis to carry our site inspections and attend meetings.

About You:

You will hold either a relevant qualification or have career experience in property management alongside holding a recognised professional accreditation such as RICS.  With your strong communication and influencing skills, you’ll be able to build strong relationships internally and manage landlord relationships. You will be able to make recommendations and decisions to resolve issues and propose investment opportunities using a risk-based approach using your analytical and diagnostics skills to support them. 

 

About The Role

  • Communicate with our landlords on all matters including consents and payment queries and approving service charges
  • Ensure that the organisation complies with its legal responsibilities as a tenant to avoid breaches of our lease terms, liability for financial penalties and to avoid damage to our reputation
  • Be the primary point of contact within SJA for all estates queries and answers and guidance where necessary relating to everyday queries e.g. boundary, ownership, right of way queries. 
  • Accountable for ensuring all rent payments and receipts are properly managed, and financially budgeted and accounted for, including spot hire costs, leases, and third party lettings within our estate.
  • Identify opportunities to generate income from the estate, ensuring that wherever suitable, market rents are obtained and all associated costs are recovered. 
  • Ensure all tenants comply with the terms of their agreements, and undertaking such actions required to protect St John Ambulance.
