Job description

Treasury is concerned with ensuring all the payments and collections associated to the business are performed in timely manner and complying with the firms Group policies as well as all other requirements.

The ALM team provides the 1LOD in managing financial risks across the business. Key risks are funding and liquidity, interest rate risk and solvency risk.

Required Knowledge & Skills :

  • Deep knowledge in ALM, especially funding, liquidity and interest rate risks
  • Experience in a bank regulated by the PRA
  • Experience in delivering ILAAP and ICAAP
  • Experience in Asset Backed Securitisation and central bank funding facilities
  • Understanding of key payment types, payment systems and treasury products
  • Familiar with SMCR
  • UK regulatory framework
  • Familiar with relevant accounting standards and practices
  • Team management
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with internal and external stakeholders up to senior management level
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Be able to organise others day-to-day work
  • Proactive, flexible, and capable of working on multiple subjects in parallel to tight deadlines.

Key Duties:

  • Ensure the funding strategy is delivered and supports the business plan
  • Manage the nterest rate hedging strategy within risk appetite and in a cost-efficient way.
  • Coordinate securitisation programmes (renewals and new issuances) and central bank facilities
  • Key person to deliver ILAAP and ICAAP and policies related to the area.
  • Ensure MI supports efficient decision making.
  • Voting member of UK ALCO
  • Support regulatory reporting department by providing input, review and developments if required
  • Support implementation of new products and company projects from Treasury and ALM perspective
  • Manage transfer pricing within the UK entities
  • Ensure the team structure, personnel resources, systems and processes remain suitable and sufficient
  • Maintain relationship with counterparty banks, investors, rating agencies and the Bank of England
  • Regular contact with Head Office colleagues (Treasury, ALM, Risk, Finance) in both strategic and operational matters. Understand and consider how UK risk management fits into Group’s risk management
