Hays Procurement are looking to recruit an Interim Procurement Manager for a Public Sector organisation within the Sheffield area. As Interim Procurement Manager, you will be the central point for procurement expertise.
You will manage a small team and offer training and support to a wide range of stakeholders in the organisation. Delivering value for money will be key in terms of compliance, business partnering and contracts negotiation.
Day-to-day you will be responsible for:
- Facilitating the use of frameworks and tenders
- Managing the small procurement team, ensuring service level agreements are met
- Providing training and support to stakeholders
- Ensuring compliance with public sector legislation and internal policies, including obligations under the Modern Slavery Act
- Maintaining the procurement system
- Managing the supplier base, including compliance with the supplier code of conduct
- Developing business partnering and supporting contract negotiation and renewal
What you'll need to succeed
- Experience of interim assignments in medium / large organisations
- Worked with an integrated finance and procurement system, and has been the lead on improvements in systems and processes
- Working knowledge of public sector procurement legislation, and experience of frameworks and tenders
- Written a procurement strategy, policies and procedures
- CIPS / MCIPS qualification
- Experience of staff management

A competitive rate is on offer, dependent on experience, for a 3+ month contract. Ideally, you will be available immediately to be able to complete a handover with the outgoing Procurement Manager. Flexible and hybrid working options are available for this position.
