Perth & Council is looking for an experienced Internal Auditor to join the team within Legal & Governance Services.

You will support the Chief Internal Auditor to provide an independent and objective view on how the Council is achieving it's objectives and also provide consultancy services, as required, for the Council and for the Health & Social Care Partnership.

Your work will be undertaken in line with Public Sector Internal Audit Standards, and in accordance with the approved Internal Audit Plan and manual.

The role is working 21.6 hours per week and we can be flexible, based on the right candidate, as to working hours.

We are looking for someone who is naturally curious; who has experience working in Internal Audit or Risk Management; and who has a keen interest in working in local government and making a difference.

You will bring a methodical, systematic and analytical approach to your work, with a thorough attention to detail, yet with the ability to step back and see the "big picture".

You will be an effective communicator with officers at all levels within the organisation, both orally and in writing.

You will have experience of drafting reports which are clear, concise and focus on the main priorities.

You will have the ability to manage your own workload, prioritising where necessary; and meet deadlines, with supervision and guidance where necessary.

You will be experienced in MS applications and be a quick learner for all systems used by the Council.

The Individual

Educated to HNC level or above is required, preferably with additional qualifications in an internal audit or risk management related subject.

It would be beneficial for you to have a valid driving licence as this post may require you to travel to a variety of locations across Perth and Kinross.
