The Role
The Internal Communications Channels Assistant is an important part of the PR and Communications team within the law firm's Marketing and Business Development department. This individual works closely with the EMEA Internal Communications Manager and Executive to design and produce engaging content across a variety of Internal Communications Channels, including the firm's intranet (Athena).
This role, based in our innovative and fast-growing Newcastle office, reports into the Internal Communications Manager, and will work alongside the PR team, the Social Media team and the global / regional comms team.
Key Responsibilities
Working closely with Internal Communications team members and colleagues in other Business Services teams, the role covers a range of essential communications tasks. Key responsibilities include:
- Act as the key EMEA contact for the Intranet (Athena), including the daily management of Intranet story posting, page updates and creation
- Design support for internal presentations (PowerPoint), emails (branded templates), newsletters, plasma screen / Athena carousel creation and ad hoc campaigns
- Sourcing imagery and visuals to support written content and internal campaigns
- Monitoring the Internal Communication team's inbox and requests
- Support the Internal Communications team on EMEA news, including collection of news story leads (e.g., via marketing / comms team), follow up, posting across the various channels. This includes supporting ad hoc communication campaigns as they come up
- Support the EMEA Internal Comms team to deliver an effective channel strategy, which facilitates dialogue amongst employees and the EMEA leadership and Partners. As part of this, help to develop and evolve our EMEA comms channels (Athena, newsletters, Teams channels, monthly meeting decks, plasmas etc.)
- Act as a quality control for communications, ensuring alignment and consistency with branding and strategic messaging, complying with Brand / House Style
Skills and Experience Required
- Degree or equivalent level in marketing, comms related field preferably with a focus on design / digital channel creation (Intranet / SharePoint knowledge)
- Design experience and / or an eye for good design. Experience with Adobe Creative Cloud suite, including Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign or similar preferred
- Strong PowerPoint skills and proficient in all Microsoft Office applications
- Strong organisational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet required deadlines
- Good verbal and written skills
- Creative and strategic thinker with an innovative mind and a "can do" attitude
- An affinity with digital media and emerging technologies that relate to communications
- Collaborative and enjoys working as part of a high-performing and international team
- A strong interest in learning more about professional services marketing and communications
