Purpose of the job

You’ll be joining our award-winning Employee Engagement and Corporate Responsibility team within the People & Culture function. We are the custodians of Collinson’s purpose, working with our people and partners to make the change we want to see, both at Collinson and in our communities. The last 18 months have been a tough time for our business. We’ve had to innovate, think on our feet and be resourceful to navigate through the ongoing COVID -19 crisis which has significantly impacted our people, partners and the travel sector as a whole. How we engage, inspire, motivate and connect with our people as we begin to emerge from the COVID-19 crisis will be more important than ever and the Communications and Engagement Manager will play a critical role.

Key Responsibilities

Reporting to our Global Director of Internal Communications & Employee Engagement, we are looking for someone to manage Internal Communications and employee engagement strategy and activities to ensure our 2,000 people globally are engaged, inspired and connected. You’ll be responsible for the development, delivery and evaluation of an integrated company-wide communications and employee engagement strategy that supports the global business strategy and effectively engages all our people. You’ll be passionate about employee engagement and able to demonstrate significant experience working with global stakeholders to develop creative campaigns.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Developing and managing an Internal Communications strategy and plan which makes a real and tangible impact in the way we communicate, engage our people and drive business performance
  • Empowering teams and managers to improve their communication across channels and create opportunities to collaborate
  • Planning, editing and developing relevant content and messaging for a variety of communication campaigns that our people will understand, find insightful, engaging and inspires them to get involved

• Advising the senior leadership team, representing the views of our people, providing best practice and recommendations on initiatives to increase visibility and trust • Planning and executing events that increase engagement and two-way interaction between leaders, management, and our people

  • Championing Internal Communications and employee engagement, and promoting best practices across the organisation to quantify its value and the commercial impact to the organisation

• Reporting on the effectiveness and performance of activities, including the analysis of results and the identification of learnings to improve ongoing performance • Overseeing the quality of employee data and determining the best use of channels and methods to reach our people globally

  • Working closely with the marketing, media and PR teams to translate external messaging internally
  • Being a key member of the team responsible for Internal Communications during a crisis
  • Being Collinson’s roving reporter, with an eye for a story and a desire to share these stories with our people globally in an engaging and timely manner
  • Driving our digital and innovation agenda, consistently looking for opportunities to inspire and engage our people

Knowledge, skills and experience required

  • Proven ability to convert communication strategy and knowledge into creative, integrated and targeted communication plans to support business objectives
  • A track-record of developing and delivering global Internal Communications strategy and initiatives within a complex matrix environment
  • Significant experience designing and implementing communications campaigns and employee engagement initiatives across a broad range of channels, both on and offline (experience using Workplace, SharePoint and Office365 would be a significant advantage)
  • Experience delivering high quality and engaging communications campaigns and initiatives that bring an organisations’ purpose, values, and behaviours to life
  • Experience managing Internal Communications through organisational change and transformation projects
  • Excellent writing and editorial skills, with the ability to tell a compelling story
  • Strong planning and organisational skills with the ability to work to strict deadlines and manage multiple projects simultaneously within a dynamic business
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and relationship management skills
  • Proactive, assertive and ability to use initiative
  • Ability to work strategically and hands on with desire to find solutions
  • Confidence to direct Internal Communications policy and determine best practice
  • A creative thinker consistently looking for new ways to inspire and engage
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential situations with diplomacy
  • Highly experienced with Office applications, including word-processing, spreadsheet, and

presentation software

  • Analytical with a desire to understand, interpret and improve results - provide clarity, insight and

solutions

  • Degree-level qualification or equivalent by experience
