The Person:
The successful International Tax and Accounting Assistant will meet the following criteria:
- Keen interest in process automation and improvements.
- Accounting Qualification (ATI/ATT) or;
- Part Qualified or relevant level of experience
- Ability to assimilate large amounts of information and a strong eye for detail, together with the confidence to query or challenge points of uncertainty.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, able to liaise effectively with colleagues and external advisors globally.
- Strong time management skills - ability to multi-task and prioritise, and to deliver on urgent requests.
- Able to work on own initiative and within a team.
- Proven ability to deliver a high level of client service.
- Double entry bookkeeping experience and general accounting knowledge are required.
- Previous tax experience is desired but not essential.
The Role:
As the successful International Tax and Accounting Assistant, you will be responsible for the following duties:
- Analyse tax payments made in various countries to ensure that these are correctly allocated to office and partner general ledger accounts, and reconciliation of these to external advisors’ schedules. This will involve extensive liaison and collaboration with colleagues in international offices.
- Maintain tax payment and refund trackers for individual countries.
- Provide assistance with preparation of information for external advisors needed to complete partner tax returns.
- Manage partner International Tax accounting matters including setting up, maintaining and clearing individual accounts.
- Assist with the team’s year-end work, including tax disclosures in group and individual legal entity accounts.
- Review and update process documentation on an ongoing basis.
- Liaise with the Robotic Process Automation (RPA) team to leverage robotics in order to generate process efficiencies.
- Assist with other projects and tasks as required, including tax reserving.
