About the role
The Academy Grimsby is looking to appoint an enthusiastic and dedicated Intervention Teacher who will play a key role in supporting our students to achieve the best grades that they can in their core GCSE subjects.
This role is an exciting opportunity to work with our KS4 students, allowing you to put your excellent English and Maths knowledge to use assisting small groups of students to improve their core subject knowledge and assist them to achieve their grades. Some students need extra help in achieving their grades and to catch up on school they may have missed in the last few years or just assist them in areas of English and Maths that they may need extra support in. This role is ideal for both experienced teachers who want to expand their teaching experiences or newly qualified teachers wanting to dive head first into a rewarding and satisfying role. For newly qualified teachers this is an excellent way to enter the work force and gain valuable teaching experience in the core subjects, whilst being supported by subject specialist teachers.

The successful candidate must have a genuine desire to become part of a team which is committed to planning and delivering inspiring lessons
Specific Duties will include
Plan and deliver a range of English and Maths interventions, using a range of teaching methods.
Deliver bespoke English and Maths interventions to selected students to address identified skills deficits.
Monitor and record the impact of the interventions used to evaluate their effect, adapting materials as necessary.
Review and evaluate subject materials to ensure that they are effective and relevant.
Work closely with subject teachers to ensure relevance of materials and their impact on targeting areas for improvement.
Agree key areas for target setting and action planning, both with line manager and subject teachers.
