Inventory Planning Manager – Basildon – Permanent

 

Opportunity to be part of a management team that is accountable for running one of the largest and state of art roasteries in UK/Europe. This is the opportunity to be part of a newly configured planning team at the Roastery, created to support the growth of Costa globally. The work is exciting, fast paced and requires good level of planning expertise in S&OP, overall service improvement and inventory management.

A bit about the role...

Day to day, you’ll be playing a pivotal role, working with our suppliers to ensure the efficient procurement and management of materials inbound to manufacturing location to support our production and distribution requirements.

You will be responsible to identify improvements to the supply chain for materials to meet both operational needs and company goals focusing on implementing short and long-term inventory strategies.
Here’s a few more points about the role:

  • Implementing inventory control measures to minimise excess or obsolete inventory and prevent stockouts.
  • Scheduling and controlling flow of materials from the point of order to the point of use within agreed production, transport and inventory plans/targets
  • Planning the goods traffic flow so as to maximising storage, reducing stock movement and reducing waste.
  • Implementing best practices in MRP planning and contribute to cost-saving initiatives
  • Analysing data related to production, inventory and supplier performance to make informed decisions and develop reports for management review.
  • Assisting compliance by coordinating traceability procedure during relevant audits on behalf of operations team.

  • A natural planner, able to set out clear plans, prioritise and adapt plans as necessary
  • Previous experience in stock management
  • Good knowledge of end to end supply chain, ideally in manufacturing environment
  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts, strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong stakeholder management (comfortable to challenge and question where needed)
  • Advanced level of Excel
  • Commercial understanding around key business metrics including sales, market share, profit, cash flow, cost.
