About the role

This is an exciting opportunity within our Client Outcomes team at Hargreaves Lansdown (HL) to lead the development, operation and embedding of third-party Due Diligence frameworks. As Investment Due Diligence Manager, you will be managing relationships with third parties, reviewing Due Diligence responses, developing the framework and enhancing and improving processes to ensure it remains ahead of good practice and regulatory expectations, whilst providing leadership to the Due Diligence team.

The Due Diligence team at HL covers all investment funds included in our investment solutions and our own funds. You will be working closely with internal teams and functions, including Investment Research, Fund Management and Business Development, in addition to external fund groups and firms to ensure their funds adhere to regulatory expectations and HL's standards.

Salary: up to £60,000, depending on experience

What you'll be doing

  • Working with internal stakeholders in the development, implementation and embedding of HL's third-party Investment and Investment Due Diligence Frameworks and processes
  • Acting as primary contact for our Due Diligence platform Door, and other external partners of the Due Diligence process
  • Reviewing third-party Due Diligence questionnaire responses and drawing conclusions as to whether they meet HL expectations, including quality assurance for the Due Diligence analyst(s)
  • Collaborating with internal stakeholders to communicate and discuss outcomes of Due Diligence reviews, agreeing required improvements, in addition to developing and embedding Due Diligence frameworks in line with good practice and regulatory expectations
  • Working with the Investment Oversight function to align processes for segregated mandate and third-party Due Diligence analysis
  • Supporting the development of regular management information on the delivery and success of Due Diligence frameworks and activities
  • Reporting management information on the Due Diligence framework to relevant Governance Committees and stakeholders, aligning with reporting from the Client & Commercial MI & Reporting Manager
  • Providing line management and leadership to the Due Diligence team
  • Working with the Head of Conduct & Due Diligence to deliver business improvement requirements

About you

As Investment Due Diligence Manager at HL you will have:

  • Good knowledge and understanding of financial markets, risk analysis and management
  • Proven experience in data management and MI
  • Proficiency and experience in producing high quality reports, suitable for senior stakeholders
  • Knowledge of third-party regulatory obligations
  • Good understanding of governance arrangements and oversight structures, preferably within an investment firm
  • Proactive communication style and confident speaking to stakeholders at all levels
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Ideally you will have experience of leading a team
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Passionate about improving the outcomes of HL's clients

Interview process

The interview process for this role will include 1-2 stages, including competency-based interview questions.

Working Schedule

This role is based in our office in Bristol (BS1 5HL), we offer hybrid working with a minimum of two days in the office per week. This is a full time, permanent role covering 37.5 hours per week. Flexible working options are available and open for discussion.
