Responsibilities:
- Analyse and evaluate Investment Risks associated with different fund strategies and asset classes
- Establish and monitor key risk indicators (KRIs) relating to material risks, including investment, market, and liquidity
- Assess the firm’s risk management policies and procedures, as they relate to mandates falling under EU regulatory regimes, such as UCITS and AIFMD
- Ensure compliance with global exposure and leverage limits;
- Engage in the product development process, review new fund portfolios and advise on suitability challenges
- Contribute towards the improvement of risk modelling and risk monitoring tools
- Monitor and analyse financial market trends and conditions to identify potential risks
- Collaborate with other business functions and stakeholders on enterprise projects requiring risk input
- Preparing and presenting Investment Risk reports for senior management and other relevant stakeholders
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant laws, regulations and industry best practices related to Investment Risk management
Requirements:
- 7-12 years of relevant professional experience within risk management gained within the asset management industry, risk consultancy or relevant service provider
- Be an expert on risk management requirements under UCITS and AIFMD, including
- knowledge of VaR and Commitment approach methodologies
- Strong academic background, a relevant post-graduate qualification (e.g. Master's degree, CFA, FRM etc.) would be advantageous
- Strong experience with risk analytical systems (e.g. RiskMetrics, Bloomberg, FactSet etc.), knowledge of Python and SQL for data analysis will be a plus
- Be able to work independently as well as part of a team to identify, analyse and resolve unfamiliar issues
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative style in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment
- Strong communication, project management and presentation skills
- Provides clear summaries to senior management, highlighting key points and control outcomes
- Demonstrate good attention to detail, and the ability to document working procedures
- Have strong interpersonal skills, to interact effectively with colleagues and with senior management
- Self-starter, able to quickly pick up concepts and implement new ideas
