As an intern in our Investment Strategy Group you’ll conduct research and analysis that inform strategic decisions, while learning one-on-one from world-class investment professionals. Working as part of the European Economics team, you’ll encounter vast learning opportunities, making it count for your career and for our investors.

Start date: August 2024

In this role, you will:

  • Keep up to date with the latest European economic & financial market developments and summarise the main takeaways for both internal and external stakeholders
  • Maintain, update and improve existing macroeconomic databases, slide decks and proprietary models
  • Conduct relevant and rigorous economic analysis to generate insight on topics relating to the macroeconomy and financial markets
  • Contribute to the thought leadership effort at Vanguard by being part of a key thematic research project, with the guidance of a supervisor
  • Grow your skills through firsthand experience and exposure, mentorship from senior analysts and presentation opportunities

This role will challenge a candidate’s judgement and critical thinking skills in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. You’re excited to research and develop innovative ideas that are applicable to the business. At Vanguard you’ll quickly hone your strong analytical and problem-solving skills, which will be the key to developing useful insights and making a real impact in the investing world.

What it takes

  • You should have completed, or be actively pursuing, a bachelor’s degree in Economics, or a related field. A Master’s degree is preferred
  • Proficiency in using Microsoft Office; and comfortable extracting data from various sources including Bloomberg and/or Macrobond
  • Strong econometric knowledge is desired. Knowledge of Eviews, Python and/or R preferred
  • Effective written & verbal communication skills; and a willingness to be a team-player
