IT Automation Technician

Here at Markerstudy we have an exciting opportunity for an Automation Technician to join our established and dynamic IT department!

This is a hybrid position that can be based at either our Peterborough or Chesterfield office.

Role Purpose:

To facilitate smooth running of the IT operation, improving efficiency through automation. The individual will be a service orientated team player with knowledge of scripting and a keen eye for spotting automation opportunities.

Our IT systems are the backbone of our business. This role is critical in supporting those systems, through ensuring our automated processes run smoothly to avoid business impact.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintenance of existing automated processes managed within Service Operations including Joiners, Movers and Leavers processes.
  • Creation of new automation requirements in line with business needs.
  • Create high quality documentation of automation processes in accordance with required standards and methods.
  • Providing efficient and professional management of support tickets, engaging with internal users where necessary to resolve support issues and ensure appropriate service levels are met.
  • Provide input to and manage projects as required alongside business-as-usual tasks.
  • Contribute to a wider automation community within M-Powered, helping to define good practice, ensuring that principles and guidelines are followed.
  • Contribute to a culture of Continuous Improvement.

Keys Skills/Knowledge:

  • Experience of implementation and support of automated solutions.
  • PowerShell and Scripting.
  • A good understanding of MS Azure, O365, Exchange, Active Directory.
  • A strong understanding of IT Service Provision and End User Support.
  • Integration through the use of APIs.
  • Experience of use of ServiceNow with a basic understanding of workflows and system configuration (advantageous).
  • Knowledge of security principles (advantageous).
  • ITIL Awareness (advantageous).
