This secondary school is based in the North Manchester area and with a good OFSTED rating, they have an excellent reputation locally. Having recently joined a large multi-academy trust at the beginning of the academic year, they are looking to increase their IT support team by appointing an IT Engineer on a permanent basis, reporting to the regional IT lead. The organisation has a well established central IT team which works collaboratively with the individual schools and teams in the trust to ensure that a high level of support is provided and the IT Director has a very hands-on approach, as well as being heavily focused on the development of staff.
Your new role
Reporting to the Regional IT Lead, the IT Engineer will work as an integral part of the school and the wider, trust IT team to ensure that a high level of IT support is provided to end users, which includes pupils, staff and senior leadership. This support will therefore include the setting up of new hardware, the installation of new software, upgrading of software and also handling any network issues. In addition, you will work closely with the wider IT team on any ongoing IT projects in progress across the trust. This role will offer further training and support to the successful candidate, with specific training focused around cloud and cybersecurity.
What you\'ll need to succeed
In order to be successful in securing this position, you must possess significant IT support experience with specific experience working in the education sector being beneficial. In addition to this, a proactive approach is required, as well as excellent customer service and communication skills.
What you\'ll get in return
In return, you will be paid a competitive salary of £27,000 with regular salary reviews and increases. In addition, this will include 26 days holiday plus bank, rising to 31 days after 2 years, with additional benefits including a cycle to work scheme, free gym access and free on-site parking.
