It Helpdesk Technician Apprentice

We are looking to recruit an Apprentice Helpdesk Technician to join our support team. This role may suit a school lever or someone looking to for a change of career. The successful candidates will be comfortable in providing IT support to either a business or education focused client base.

Main Responsibilities:

• This is an extremely varied role for a customer facing, practical, proactive and dedicated individual.
• Candidates will be required to regular visit Primary schools and provide routine support and maintenance that cannot be completed remotely.
• Successful candidates will possess a reasonable knowledge of Windows and Apple solutions and be comfortable using and supporting basic hardware / devices.
• Applicants must be good communicators with the ability to work sensibly under pressure and on their own initiative with guidance.

Desirable Skills:

• Individuals will be passionate about IT.
• Be self-motivated.
• Enjoy providing excellent customer service. This role requires the successful candidate to be a team player, have strong communication and organisation skills along with a courteous manner with the ability to explain technical issues in layman's terms to our customers.

Personal Qualities:

• Team player.

• Candidates should be able to work independently and have an aptitude for problem solving and a proactive approach to identifying ways to improve services.

Desired Qualifications:

• 3 GCSEs (or equivalent) at grades 4+ (A-C) in any subject
• GCSE Maths and English (or equivalents) at grades 3+ (D or above)
• Prospective apprentices must not hold an existing qualification at the same or higher level as this apprenticeship is in a similar subject

You may also have a combination of qualifications and experience which demonstrate the minimum foundation needed for the programme. In this instance you could still be considered for the programme.

If you hold international equivalents of the above qualifications, at the time of your application you must be able to provide an official document that states how your international qualifications compare to the UK qualifications.
