Job Title:IT Manager
Location: Tonbridge
Salary Range: 36,000 - 43,000 per annum + excellent benefits package.
Employment Type: Full-Time (37 hours per week)
Job Description:
As an IT Manager, you will play a crucial role in the strategic planning, development, and maintenance of the IT infrastructure. Your responsibilities will encompass various aspects of IT management, including development planning, budget management, and network management.
Development Planning:
- Liaise with relevant staff to create and maintain an IT Development plan for the school, outlining short, medium, and long-term goals.
- Advise the Senior Leadership Team on future development projects and ensure the implementation of IT-related policies.
- Manage IT development projects from inception to completion, evaluating completed projects.
- Lead the development and delivery of IT training to the staff.
Budget Management:
- Plan annual IT budget requirements based on development projects and spending trends.
- Manage the budget for hardware, software, support contracts, printing, audio-visual equipment, IT-related grants, and Capital Projects.
- Adhere to school procedures for ordering and procurement of goods.
Network Management:
- Manage and support the School's core systems, including physical servers, storage, and virtual server environments.
- Oversee the design and management of wired and wireless network infrastructures.
- Ensure fault tolerance, monitor performance, and expand or upgrade systems as necessary.
- Responsible for disaster recovery and business continuity of IT systems.
- Administer Active Directory, including group policy creation and maintenance.
- Develop regular maintenance programs for IT systems and undertake repairs as necessary within the current expenditure plan.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to critical operations, user experience, and system performance.
- Collaborate with external support agencies to resolve faults.
- Manage the IT helpdesk, knowledgebase, and documentation of the network.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Proven experience in IT management roles.
- Strong knowledge of network concepts, including Switch and Firewall administration, troubleshooting, and maintenance.
- Experience with DHCP, VPN, DNS.
- Excellent project management and leadership skills.
- Effective communication and training delivery abilities.
- Budget planning and management skills.
