Role Summary
Aubay is looking for an experienced IT Operations Engineer to join our client’s IT Operations Team. Our client uses Energy Trading Risk Management (ETRM) and multiple applications built on Azure data functions and reporting for trade decisions, software for the lifecycle of the trading process, from trade capture through scheduling the commodity for delivery to actuating settlement and capturing the transactions in accounting.
This role is the primary focal for our client’s Trading & Supply supported applications issues as part of the IT Operations team. It involves virtual working in a global environment with culturally diverse teams, managing multiple delivery priorities and multiple demand requests, as well as working with multiple stakeholders in various organizations. This position manages overall delivery, outages, for landscapes thereby ensuring availability, reliability, and overall supportability with team members across the globe.
Crucial to the success of this role is the ability to work collaboratively and lead effectively across multi-functional teams and interface with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders, based in various locations, and ability to work autonomously.
Required Skills and Experience
- 8 - 12 years of relevant experience
- Proven experience in Applications Support or IT Services Management (ITIL)
- Relevant experience in Application Development & Service Management Operations/Project Management
- Experienced in Azure data functions/reporting, Azure DevOps, Infrastructure support
- Energy Trading domain/product knowledge (gas, power, emissions, commodities, etc.)
- Self-starter with good analysis and problem-solving skills
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Effective stakeholder management and negotiation skills across organizational and business boundaries at all levels
- Ability to deliver results in a matrix organization driving delivery excellence through influence and team working
- Able to operate in a virtual cross-cultural organization and deal with conflict and ambiguity effectively
- Understanding of business support requirements and ability to handle concurrent tasks with appropriate priority
- Graduate or Post Graduate degree in Information Technology or similar certification.
Desirable Experience
- ITIL certified
Role Responsibilities
- Ensure delivery of seamless operational support and their related back-end technology.
- Work with multiple stakeholders and service providers to deliver IT solutions and support to meet the business needs.
- Drive Incident/Problem resolution by assisting in key operational activities in terms of delivery, fixes, and supportability with operations staff and suppliers.
- Assist in IT change ticket reviews, approvals, and planning.
- Ensure operational run books, support guidelines, and procedures are produced and maintained for use.
- Represent operations towards the IT Managers for landscapes in scope sharing relevant information and managing priorities & escalations.
- Coordinate DR plans and Test execution for the critical business applications within the landscape.
- Maintain the application and infrastructure landscape documentation on an annual basis, document failover process, criteria, and timings.
- Compliance & Controls: Ensure regulatory and compliance controls are embedded in landscape operations and assist with evidence collection. Drive the compliance and audit activities for the applications in the landscape.
- Assist with transition of projects to Support activities.
- Liaise with a diverse set of business and IT stakeholders
- Act as a functional expert for both business process and management information in a delivery space.
- Maintain in-depth knowledge of the business, processes, applications, information and data associated with the portfolio.
