IT Operations Manager - URGENT, IMMEDIATE STARTER!
3-Month Fixed Term Contract - Option to be extended

Salary up to £44,000
The successful candidate will oversee the ICS Technical Team's operations and assume overall accountability for IT Service Management, including Incident and Problem Management, ICS asset management, procurement, and Network/Server Infrastructure management for the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the management and enhancement of IT Service Management, Service Desk, and Network/Server Infrastructure, ensuring seamless service delivery to all users and meeting SLA resolution targets.
- Manage and develop the Network and Server Infrastructure, both cloud-based and onsite, encompassing performance monitoring, capacity planning, maintenance, security, alert response, backups, and restores.
- Uphold the integrity of the organization's technical infrastructure, implementing security policies, adhering to IT health check results, and maintaining agreed technical standards for Network, Infrastructure management, and Cyber Security.
- Ensure the Technical team achieves agreed SLA targets for allocated calls.
- Address and resolve assigned and escalated incidents, problem management, and change requests, documenting root causes and resolutions according to established procedures.
- Communicate major Incidents and planned downtime effectively to users at all organizational levels, considering varying ICT literacy levels.
- Manage the lifecycle of all ICT assets (Hardware and Software) from procurement to disposal, and maintain accuracy in the Configuration Management Database (CMDB).
- Oversee the IT procurement processes, ensuring compliance with ICT strategy guidelines and serving as a technical point of contact for complex procurement requests.
- Administer the Service Desk system, including managing upgrades, patches, and new module implementations.
- Identify and implement improvements to enhance organizational efficiency and effectiveness, aligned with the authority's objectives.
- Plan and deliver training programs on ITIL Service Management for the Technical Team, ICS staff, and end users as required.
- Provide technical input into the development of ICT Strategies, Policies, and ICS SLA agreements.
- Ensure technical development aligns with ICS priorities, promoting seamless coordination and integration.
- Collaborate with third-party suppliers, participating in performance review meetings and handling escalated, critical, or major incidents, problems, and changes.
- Advocate and apply best practice technical standards, including initiatives from National Government and the ICT industry, to enhance service delivery.
- Work closely with the ICS Development Team, Third-party suppliers, and Service areas.
- Manage the Technical Team, including planning and delivering work programs, performance management, and training and development.
- Be flexible in job responsibilities, including working overtime for scheduled out-of-hours development, maintenance, and upgrade work.
- Ensure information security by protecting and managing information securely, and promptly reporting breaches or suspected breaches in line with policies.
