We are recruiting for an established and leading Telecommunications Provider, that are currently seeking an IT Project Engineer / Systems Engineer to join their busy service desk team.

As the IT Project Engineer / Systems Engineer, you will be responsible for providing premium service and support to all internal and external customers using available tools and in cooperation with the department and partners.

As the IT Project Engineer you will be tasked with helpdesk incident and problem management, providing service request fulfilment, software and hardware.

Responsibilities:

• Monitor service desk for IT issues by reviewing incoming tickets and reviewing progress.
• IT Project Engineer / Systems Engineer tasked with supporting roll out of new applications.
• Design and support customer upgrades and migration plans.
• You will be tasked to prioritise and manage many open cases at any one time.
• Technically support a project from inception through the whole lifecycle of design and implementation.
• Help maintain security awareness in the organisation.

Key Skills:

• Degree in Computer Science, Electronic Engineering or similar work-based learning are welcomed.
• Experience of working within a network/IT field.
• Good understanding of networking, and a good understanding of Multicast.
• Ubuntu or Debian based Linux system administration.
• Postgres SQL
• Managing service desk requests through help desk systems.
• Experience in Bash and Python skills are nice to have.

** Due to the nature of the position, you must hold a full drivers license and have access to a vehicle. The role is 100% office based in East Sussex with some work outside of hours required for supporting Global projects.
