We are currently recruiting on behalf of a high-profile client for an IT Project Manager position, based out of Darlington. This is a hybrid role requiring the candidate to be onsite for 2 or 3 days each week, with the potential for travel to other sites within the UK as dictated by project demands. The initial temporary contract is for 9 months, with a high likelihood of extension or conversion to a permanent contract.
Role Focus: The successful candidate will join a dedicated team of Project Managers, overseeing the IT aspects of initiatives such as setting up new sites, implementing new production lines, decommissioning sites, and modernising IT infrastructure across existing locations.
Essential Skills:
- Strong track record in IT project management, capable of juggling multiple projects with competing priorities.
- Exceptional attention to detail, organisational, communication, and facilitation skills.
- Independence in managing time and tasks, with the ability to work effectively without constant supervision.
- Familiarity with Agile and Waterfall project methodologies, underscored by a current project management certification.
Role Responsibilities:
- Leadership across various IT infrastructure projects, ensuring timely and within-budget completion.
- Coordination with internal and external stakeholders to define project scope, objectives, performance goals, plans, timelines, and milestones.
- Proactive identification and resolution of project risks and issues.
- Regular project status updates to teams and stakeholders, ensuring transparency and alignment.
Preferred Experience:
- Prior involvement in IT infrastructure projects covering networks, telecommunication services, desktop computing, and manufacturing IT is advantageous.
- Demonstrated expertise in the key domains of project management, such as risk management, conflict resolution, and communication management.
- Insight into data management practices, including clean-up, conversion, and testing.
