A local NHS trust is looking to expand their cyber security function where they are building their SOC capability. This is an exciting opportunity for someone to join them on the start of the journey. This is a fairly junior role with the chance of going permanent where cyber security qualifications can be provided as part of someone's ongoing development.
Your new role
Your primary function is to monitor security systems and response to both Cyber incidents and Service Requests received via their ticketing system. You will act as a first point of escalation for tickets raised, acting as an SME to maintain and improve the Trust's cyber security posture.
You will also need to learn about the Trust's systems and objectives to help make appropriate risk-based decisions, learn about cyber threats in general as well as NHS specific threats and perform any other reasonable cyber security related tasks.
What you'll need to succeed
Ideally, you will have a minimum of 2 years' experience in a similar IT security/ SOC role. If you have worked with ServiceNow and Elastic, this will be a benefit. You must have a passion for cyber security and a willingness to learn. This could be an excellent role for someone looking to make the move into cyber who is currently or has previously worked in an IT Helpdesk environment where you have had some exposure to cyber security issues.
What you'll get in return
- An initial 3-6 month contract with a potential permanent role at the end
- Cyber security qualifications as part of ongoing development
- Opportunity to be at the start of their cyber set-up and function where you will play a key role and have exposure to training and mentoring other junior team members.
