IT Support Technician - 1st, 2nd & some 3rd Line - Aldershot
Salary: £30,000 - £37,500 DOE - Plus Benefits
Through an increasing project & IT support workload, this successful mid-sized company in Aldershot is now seeking a motivated IT Support Technician to join their business, to work alongside their experienced IT Manager. Working as the first point of contact for all IT issues & support requests, the IT Support Technician will respond to & manage a varying workload of support issues & project work, generated by a growing User base of Windows Laptops & PC’s.
Requiring circa 2+ years experience, the IT Support Technician will have good experience of providing IT Technical Support and be able to undertake in-depth troubleshooting & diagnostics as & when required. Along with a positive "Can-Do" attitude, the IT Support Technician will also need a genuine passion to continue learning and growing their professional IT knowledge & skills.
Supporting Users & infrastructure across a handful of sites in Aldershot, the IT Support Technician will provide an excellent technical support service across 1st & 2nd line support and will also have some knowledge/experience of managing & investigating 3rd Line support issues too.
The technical environment is Windows based across Windows 10 & 11, Windows Servers - both On-Prem & virtual, Active Directory, Office 365, MS Teams, Word, Excel, Networking & IT & Cyber security.
Preferred Skills & Experience:
- Solid Windows IT Support skills across 1st 2nd & some 3rd Line support
- Windows Desktop & some Windows Server knowledge - On-Prem or Virtual
- Strong Active Directory skills - Accounts, Permissions etc
- Office 365 or Microsoft 365 Administration & support
- Additional knowledge of SQL databases, Mobile device management or similar tools is highly beneficial
- Enjoys working with Users and undertaking project work as required
- Demonstrates good troubleshooting & diagnostics skills
- Works equally well alone as well as part of a small team
- Takes responsibility for own work and is comfortable escalating issues as & when required
- Good documentation skills
- Supports ongoing security improvements and managing backups
- A Degree in a computing related subject is useful but isn’t essential
