Thorough testing ensures a faultless solution at every stage of development. Embedded in a squad, you will provide testing support for various in-house applications. Working closely with business stakeholders, developers, business analysts, and project managers, you will understand the solution's purpose, users, and key features. As a Test Analyst, you will conduct exploratory and functional manual testing and gradually transition manual test cases to automated tests, with support from the Test manager.
This is an ideal position for someone who has chosen QA as a profession and wanting to start their journey into automated testing.
Hours and Location
General hours of work are Monday to Friday, 09:00 - 17:00. You will be required to work from the office at least two days a week, with the remaining days working from home.
Duties and Key Accountabilities
- Attend agile ceremonies.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders, developers, and the BA team to understand project requirements.
- Create and maintain comprehensive test strategy documentation for new projects.
- Prepare functional and exploratory scenario-based test cases.
- Plan, execute, and document manual test cases.
- Ensure application behaviour meets requirements during test execution.
- Record test results, analyse anomalies, and raise and track defects with the development team.
- Report and track testing progress with the project team.
- Develop, run, and maintain automated regression suites with support from the QA manager.
- Transition manual regression test cases to automated tests.
- Complete testing iterations within deadlines.
- Perform regression testing to ensure no detrimental impact on system functionality.
- Create, manage, and maintain testing documentation for regression testing and user testing support.
- Support business stakeholders with UAT as needed.
- Continuously improve testing processes and methodologies.
Essential Criteria
- Prior manual testing experience with the ability to produce, execute, and record accurate test results.
- Strong analytical skills with good attention to detail.
- Highly self-motivated and well-organized.
- Effective workload management.
- Clear communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work well in a team and independently.
- Natural curiosity and drive for results.
- Flexible and adaptable in changing priorities.
- Basic understanding of test automation.
- Experience with Office tools such as Word, Excel, SharePoint, etc.
- Experience with issue tracking and test management tools (e.g., JIRA, TestRail).
Desirable Criteria
- Basic experience of test automation.
- Knowledge of JavaScript/TypeScript and the Playwright test framework.
- Basic knowledge of git.
- Familiarity with CI/CD tools and processes (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD).
- Experience testing web applications.
- Knowledge of automation and test theory, with the ability to create test documentation.
- Expertise in agile methodologies such as Scrum and Kanban.
- Experience using MS DevOps (Test Plans, User Stories, Kanban Board).
- Understanding of workflows and process flow diagrams.
- Proficiency in cross-browser, mobile, and device testing.
- Knowledge of database interrogation, including MS SQL.
