Japanese Speaking IT Helpdesk Analyst

My client is one of the largest financial institutions headquartered in Japan, with an established presence across all consumer and corporate banking businesses. Through its subsidiaries and affiliates, they offer a diverse range of financial services, including commercial banking, leasing, securities, credit card, consumer finance and other services.
Working within the IT & Security Planning Department (ITSD) you will be providing user assistance for IT systems. This role is working Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm, being based in their London office 3 days a week, 2 days working from home.
They are looking for someone to join the team in an initial 12 month contract with the possibility of extension. It is essential that you have strong language skills in both English and Japanese for this position.
Daily tasks will include, but not limited to:
- Assist department staff on day-to-day basis by providing general IT admin work
- Replying to inquiries from users regarding system usage and solving problems
- Daily data reconciliation
- Request support to related parties including Tokyo headquarters.
- Issue management and regular reporting, consultation, and documentation
- Strong relationship building / networking with all Departments, including Front Office, Control and Support, Tokyo Head office, and Senior management of ITSD.
- Accountable for timely updates to Senior ITSD management on ongoing initiatives, incidents, projects and reporting tasks.
- Reports and assists across EMEA to all ITSD Sections.
Key Skills & Abilities
- A background of IT support desk and data editing.
- Strong analytical skills and communication skills.
- Ability to identify issues, request assistance from stakeholders, and track them.
- Strong language skills with English and Japanese.
- Must be able to use Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
- Flexible and adaptable to changing business requirements and new task assignment.
- Self-motivated to continually improve existing practices with minimal supervision and able to take the lead to see goals through to fruition.
- Act as a role model showing willingness to support / guide others as is necessary using sound judgement.
- Expected to handle high level of correspondence/queries from both local and Japanese expats independently.
- Team-worker with willingness to "go-beyond" and "exceed expectation" attitude towards problem solving is preferable.
- College/University graduate or equivalent.
