Role: Software Developer (Java / Spring)

You'll be working with a small but high performing team, where you'll have the chance to work on a super complex product that is seen as Technology For The greater good.

- You'll work as part of a cross functional team, taking responsibility for back-end Java / Spring Boot applications.
- You'll have the chance to work with AWS and cloud-based technology
- The product solves real world problems, so you'll do some meaningful work
- Super flexible organisation where you can work remotely, they have offices in Birmingham City Centre which people tend to visit a couple of times per month
Who are we looking for?
- Experience with Java 8 or later with demonstrable and recent development experience using Spring / Spring boot
- Demonstrate the ability to produce high quality software and experience introducing new technologies to a platform.
- Experience of working with SQL and NoSQL Databases (Postgres, MongoDB, or similar)
- Experience of using Version Control Software, such as Git, GitHub, GitLab and similar products.
- Experience of working in Agile/Scrum development teams.
- Experience of CI/CD
- Experience of applying software design principles, design patterns, test-driven development, SOLID principles, etc.
- Strong academic background, i.e., Bachelors level in degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or similar.
- A proven ability to understand and manage the impact of detailed software issues on the wider system level performance.
