Job Description (JD): 3yrs experience

As a Junior Quantum Computing Research Assistant, you will be an integral part of our team working under the guidance of senior researchers in the field of Variational Quantum Eigensolver (VQE). This position offers a unique opportunity for a motivated individual to learn and contribute to the development of cutting-edge algorithms for studying large-scale molecules and materials within the field of Quantum Computing.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the development and implementation of VQE-based techniques for accurate and efficient calculations of large molecular systems.
  • Collaborate with medicinal chemistry scientists, physicists, and computational scientists, providing support in theoretical insights.
  • Participate in the analysis and interpretation of computational results, contributing to presentations, reports, and scientific publications.
  • Stay updated on the latest advancements in Quantum Computing, actively participating in the team's efforts to develop cutting-edge methodologies.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to gain exposure to computational quantum chemistry methods for large-scale simulations and multi-scale modeling approaches.

Essential Skills:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in quantum physics/chemistry, computer science, machine learning, or a related scientific field.
  • Basic understanding of quantum computation techniques, with a willingness to learn and develop skills in VQE algorithms.
  • Programming skills in languages such as C++, Python, or Fortran, and a keen interest in quantum computational software packages (e.g., Qiskit, TKET, Pennylane, etc.).
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the enthusiasm to develop and apply computational methodologies.

Desirable Skills:

  • Interest in Quantum Computing platforms and quantum algorithms for chemistry simulations.
  • Basic knowledge of physical systems for implementing quantum computers (e.g., superconducting circuits and ion traps).
  • Eagerness to learn about error correction/mitigation for quantum devices.
  • Familiarity with high-performance computing (HPC) environments and an interest in parallel programming techniques.
  • Enthusiasm to gain knowledge relevant to drug discovery.
