Junior Business Analyst - Role & Responsibilities:

• Responsible for evaluating solutions and advising on the pros and cons of each, negotiating between business & technical teams to understand all views and reach best outcome taking account of best requirement fit, cost, time frames & technical feasibility.
• Supporting with the testing and deployment & implementation of new technologies and using process improvement analysis to resolve technical issues.
• Document requirements, creating requirement solutions and work with suppliers to understand requirements and evaluate solution proposals.
• Recommend ways to support business change using technologies, analyse ways to support the finance and invoicing function with supplier settlement and use your technical knowledge to improve processes when it comes to reservations, flight booking, ticketing and fare quoting.
• Analyse how interfaces should be used to address business requirements including: Real time query/response HTML with XML, JSON, relational database, file oriented (XML, CSV) or fixed length formats.
• Use experience of global distribution systems (GDS) to analyse business processes and help resolve technical issues. Use experience of air sales process to improve processes and technical issue resolution for flight searches / quoting & booking / ticketing etc.

Junior Business Analyst - Skills & Experience Required:

• Strong travel / tour operator knowledge from a commercial, operational, and technical perspective.
• Excellent understanding of current IT architecture methods and networking, specifically TCP/IP.
• An appreciation of the commercial and technical issues when it comes to selling leisure air travel, specifically scheduled carriers but knowledge of low cost carriers also useful.
• Experience of one or more GDS, technical aggregators and 'on demand' accommodation providers.
• Knowledge of reporting tools and SQL would be an advantage.
• Knowledge of back office systems, payment processing and how this integrates with sales systems.
• Understanding and experience of air fares and fare rules.
• Solid understanding of internet / web technology.
• Experience or knowledge of Travelfusion.
