We're on the hunt for an enthusiastic Junior Data Engineer to strengthen our forward-thinking data team, playing a pivotal role in our quest to deliver superior intelligence through smart data solutions.

As a Junior Data Engineer at Cobry, you'll be a key player in our clients' data operations. Your role will involve assisting in the development, maintenance, and optimization of the pipelines that empower our clients' business analytics. You'll be tasked with ensuring data flows seamlessly and securely from its origin to its endpoint, facilitating the extraction of vital insights to guide strategic decisions.

Key Responsibilities


  • Assist in the architecture and implementation of scalable data pipelines to accommodate evolving data processing needs.
  • Help manage database operations, including basic performance tuning, security, and troubleshooting under supervision.
  • Support the development and maintenance of ETL processes, contributing to the integration of diverse data sources into a unified data warehouse.
  • Contribute to upholding data quality, working towards ensuring the accuracy and consistency of data accessible to end-users.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, such as data analysts and scientists, to fulfill the company's data requirements.
  • Engage in continuous learning to stay abreast of industry developments and apply new technologies to enhance data reliability and efficiency.
  • Assist in creating detailed documentation to bolster the data infrastructure and assist users.

You will need

To excel in this position, you need to bring the following:

Skills

  • Basic proficiency in SQL and familiarity with relational databases, as well as an introduction to NoSQL databases.
  • Exposure to cloud services (e.g., AWS, Google Cloud Platform, Azure) and an eagerness to learn more about big data technologies (e.g., Hadoop, Spark).
  • A foundational understanding of data pipeline and workflow management tools.
  • A grasp of ETL techniques and best practices, with a willingness to deepen this knowledge.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and meticulous attention to detail.

  • You exhibit attention to detail and are proactive in identifying and addressing data inconsistencies.

Salary: £22,000
