About the Position:
My Client are seeking Junior Civil Engineer to work from their Head Office in Maidstone, Kent. Due to continued growth, Independent Design House is currently seeking a high-calibre, qualified and motivated Engineer to join our expanding Temporary Works, Civil and Structural Engineering team to deliver and develop unique and bespoke engineering solutions for our clients across a variety of industries. We are looking for a candidate with at least 2 years of experience working in a design focused role (either office or site based) on UK construction projects ideally with knowledge of temporary works, and BS5975.
You will be based from our head office in Maidstone, Kent.

The Temporary Works/Civil/Structural Engineer reports to a Team Leader and collaborates with all stakeholders cross disciplines including client liaison to achieve best for project outcomes.
Your responsibilities:
- Dive into a diverse array of exciting projects where you'll apply your expertise to a wide array of scenarios.
- Craft captivating designs and technical drawings, making complex concepts easily understandable for our clients.
- Ensure flawless planning, design, and implementation of temporary works, all while embracing the latest software and tools.
- Embark on site visits, conducting detailed surveys and developing innovative solutions for ultimate safety.
- Provide invaluable technical support to your colleagues, working independently on multiple projects even under tight deadlines.
- Embrace the opportunity to learn and grow by mastering new skills and staying updated with industry standards.
- Champion safety by implementing a robust strategy in line with Construction Design and Management Regulations 2015 (CDM2015).
- Lead and coordinate tasks for junior team members, fostering a collaborative work environment.
Essential Experience, Skills & Knowledge:
- An engineering degree in Civil or Structural Engineering. Ideally, working towards Chartered Status with the ICE or IStructE.
- Excellent math's and general numeracy skills.
- Excellent 2D AutoCAD skills.
- Ability to read and understand engineering plans, section details and general arrangements.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Advanced IT skills.
Desirable Experience, Skills & Knowledge:
- Knowledge of temporary and steelworks.
- Proven supervising and mentoring skills.
- 3D draughting / modelling knowledge
