Working as a member of the Digital Product Management Team you will play a key role in the delivery of Boots’ Digital Transformation agenda. Putting the customer at the heart of all we do and with a focus on value delivery, you will be shaping and delivering the Digital Product vision, roadmap and subsequent development across our digital channels.

The Product Owner drives the delivery of their Product, owning and prioritising the backlog, they represent the ‘voice of the customer’ through the Product’s development. Monitoring its performance, they prioritise the delivery of maximum value.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supports the development of Product Roadmaps and Backlogs, using external and internal insights, ideation, customer feedback and prototyping/testing
  • Elaborates and refines product backlog; ensuring customer, business and technology needs are understood during backlog refinement and feature elaboration
  • Awareness of market and industry trends, applying external and internal insights to inform your product backlog and to identify innovations
  • Promotes the best customer and business experiences across your areas of ownership, identifying and enhancing key customer journeys and business processes
  • Communicates Product updates to relevant business stakeholders
  • Monitor key measures and metrics, using multiple analytical tools to understand the performance of your products.
  • May contribute to business cases for roadmap activities.
  • Manages prioritisation and refinement of items in the product backlog, maximising value delivery
  • Works collaboratively with key colleagues including User Experience, Optimisation, Programme Management, IT and others, in support of the successful delivery of your products.
  • Represents the Product Management Team within scrum teams and at relevant development ceremonies, such as daily stand ups and sprint demos.
  • Maintains alignment between product development and defined objectives, working with stakeholders and scrum team members to ensure successful product releases.
  • Consistently applies Product best practice and acts as an advocate of the Product discipline

Hybrid working:

We currently operate a fixedhybrid working approach for Support Office team members with a mix of remote and office-based working. Our set office days are Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday with team members able to work remotely on Mondays and Fridays.

What you’ll need to have

  • You are a digital advocate with an interest in current trends in digital development and omni-channel retail
  • Analytically minded and customer focussed, you will be able to interpret data and feedback to identify future requirements
  • You are a clear communicator and team player
  • Structured and organised, you will be able to manage and prioritise a product backlog
  • You demonstrate great attention to detail, but can maintain sight of the bigger picture.
  • Proactive, independent and self-starting, you build and maintain relationships with a wide range of stakeholders
  • You are able to understand technical aspects of product development, working closely with IT colleagues
  • Experience with, or keen to learn, the usage of Product Management tooling (e.g. Jira, Confluence, Mural) and analytical systems (e.g. Adobe Analytics, Google Analytics)
  • With a keen interest in Product Management & Ownership, you will develop and apply the discipline’s best practices and share your knowledge and experience with your team mates.
