Junior – Intermediate Mechanical Project Engineer

The Company

BSV are recruiting on behalf of a M&E Sub contractor established over 40 years ago. Our client has expanded steadily and is now looking to recruit a Junior Mechanical Project Engineer for their London office. With a annual turnover of £50m, our client is offering an excellent opportunity which will allow the right candidate to grow and progress their career in the commercial, hotel and educational sectors.

The Role

You will be responsible for:

ensuring services and products are delivered on time and to the specified or expected quality and costs.
ensuring that all design elements are compliant with all statutory requirements and deliver the scheme benefits specified by the client.
ensure that all installations are properly planned and professionally constructed to the required specification and standards of quality.
ensure all work to be performed has been risk assessed in respect to the environment and health & safety and safe systems of work are developed and employed.
ensure materials used are in accordance with the specification and quality required.
provide sufficient support to allow materials and sub-contracts to be procured thereby maintaining regular and efficient progress to meet programme requirements.
ensure persons allocated to tasks are competent in respect to their core, environment and health and safety duties.

Qualifications & Experience

The ideal candidate:
A minimum of two years experience in the mechanical installation and have or be working towards Chartered Engineer status with corporate membership of the appropriate Engineering Institute or equivalent. Junior engineers are expected and will be encouraged to apply for Chartered status
Experience of Project Engineering within the construction industry
Good communication skills and ability to organise / motivate a project team.
Sound knowledge of project management principles, applicable contract forms and legal requirements.
Sound knowledge of environmental and heath & Safety legislation
Good working knowledge of Building services equipment and systems at team leader, supervisory or technical level.
