A Newcastle based Games studio are currently looking for a Junior IT Technician to work with their existing IT team. The studio has released some of the best indie and VR games on the market, some of which are based on huge box-office IP’s. The studio is renowned in the Console/VR industry for creating high end games and have continually set the bar in the market on both single and multiplayer titles.

As one of the main points of contact, you’ll be on hand to provide internal support to users and help maintain/install packages, PC’s, setting up new users (onsite and remote) and other related aspects that may arise.

The ideal candidate will show initiative at the highest level and be curious about new technologies in Video games - this will make the role more rewarding for the successful individual.

Ideally a background in video games, entertainment, film or TV would be preferred, as you will have a bigger understanding of the infrastructure to support these applications. Alternatively, a degree in Computer Science (or similar IT Degree) and at least 1 years’ experience in a similar role outside the above industries would also be enough.

There is a competitive salary on offer, including exclusive studio benefits, flexible working hours, pension, life and healthcare policies, free games and a generous holiday allowance.

This role is mainly onsite with at least 1-2 days working remotely, as support is required for both onsite and remote members of the team.

Requirements

  • At least 1 years’ experience in a similar IT Technician or 1st Line Support role
  • Up to date knowledge of Windows Server, Active Directory and Windows 10/11
  • Good knowledge of information security technologies
  • Good communication skills
  • Experience or passion to work in the games industry
  • Basic Windows Server knowledge: DNS, DHCP, Group Policies, etc.
  • A Degree in Computer Science (or similar IT related Degree)
This is a fantastic opportunity to work with a studio who are working on amazing games, which have a great reputation in the games community and have been bought/downloaded and played by audiences in the high millions. To apply please send your CV to will.hudson@amiqus.com
