Our Sudbury-based client are looking for a Junior Maintenance Technician to join their engineering team, performing pre-planned and reactive maintenance on the latest generation of specialist machinery, mainly mechanical with some electrical work. As a Junior Maintenance Technician, you will benefit from a detailed training plan providing you with the skills and knowledge to become fully qualified within the industry. This role would therefore suit an individual with a mechanical background who is looking for the chance to train as a Maintenance Technician whilst working in a supportive environment for a well-established, family-run business who are well known to look after their staff.
The role
- Working hours are shift based and operate on an annualised hours pattern
- Ensuring machinery is maintained according to manufacturer’s instructions
- Responding to requests
- Address quality issues reported by the Inspection department
- Reacting immediately to support calls
- Carrying out required maintenance to resolve the issue
- Accurate logging of work for traceability and accountability
- Support all those within the maintenance team
Required Experience:
- Ideally possess an electrical/maintenance/mechanical and/or engineering qualification
- Key eye for detail
- Previous experience within a manufacturing environment
- Happy to work on a shift rota basis
- Interest in electro-mechanical systems
- Ideally some experienced gained from a maintenance-oriented mechanical/engineering/manufacturing or production environment.
