Junior Merchandiser

Due to business growth, this fantastic company who specialise in global licenced, well-known branded soft furnishings, and clothing supplier who work with high profile retailers across the UK and Europe are seeking an Junior Merchandiser for this hybrid role in Cheadle Hulme.

If you are a recent graduate in Fashion, Textiles, Merchandising or Buying and are seeking your foot in the door within a fantastic company that offers career progression, then this role is ideal for you.  Firstly, you will receive extensive training, and buddy up with a National Account Manager, to gain an understanding of key customer requirements, as well as buddying up with the rest of the Merchandising team.  Your primary focus will be UK customers including (but not limited to Aldi, Lidl, Argos, Marks & Spencer, John Lewis, to name but a few.  You will be responsible for optimising stock levels for key accounts once you have received all your training as well as carrying out the following:

Your duties will include

• Liaising with UK customers and understanding their forecasting volumes for the coming months, both fob and direct customers
• Attending regular customer meetings with the Key Account Manager to gain an understanding of their requirements and agree on their forecasting and ensure that things aren’t overstocked
• Liaising with the factories in China and Pakistan and Product Development teams to manage critical path
• Placing orders and chasing through critical path and ensuring products are developed on time
• Ensuring that retailers have samples for approval in the right timeframe and updating on any delays
• Preparing shipping documents
• Booking goods on to the ERP system (Prema) and raising invoices end to end
• Liaising with the Warehouse in the Netherlands and the UK regarding weekly orders and maintaining stock holdings
• Using MS Excel for forecasting and estimating stock, as well as stock numbers, pivot tables and formulas
• Keeping an eye on over and underspend

What we are looking for:

• Ideally a recent graduate in fashion, textiles, merchandising or buying
• Confident use of MS Excel, ideally pivot tables and formulas
• Someone who would like a career in well-known named licenced goods, in particular, soft furnishings, bedding, textiles and clothing
• Confident communication skills
