Junior OSINT Analyst
Responsibilities:
- Conduct research and analysis on a broad range of socio-political, security and economic topics relevant to Eastern Europe, particularly Ukraine and Russia.
- Monitor open-source media and publicly available information for research and analysis purposes.
- Analyse, review and integrate open-source data from a variety of sources.
- Apply analytic techniques, methodologies and processes for creating OSINT products.
- Support the development of high-quality programme material for IN2 projects, assisting team in the collection and delivery of high-quality reports to key stakeholders.
- Contribute to the facilitation of relationships with new clients and partners.
- Help promote IN2’s work by drafting communications materials, ad-hoc reports and supporting related requests.
- Provide ad-hoc support to senior analysts and IN2 business development colleagues as required.
Qualifications:
- In-depth knowledge of and/or prior experience working on post-Soviet geographies.
- Strong command of English, including English language writing skills .
- Russian language skills advantageous, particularly reading and listening skills.
- Strong analytical background, able to critically assess sources and information.
- Comfortable navigating data obtained from social media platforms.
- Able to identify inauthentic social media behaviour (bots) or concerted efforts (information campaigns and operations) .
- Inquisitive mind with a risk-averse attitude.
- Basic knowledge Python and/or R.
- Familiarity with Gephi.
- Familiarity with Linux and Macintosh operating systems.
- Practical knowledge of OSINT online and Github-based tools.
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Office suite.
