The role
Reporting to the Group Property Project Manager the Junior Project Manager is responsible for the day-to-day management of projects across the Property department. The role will include capturing stakeholder requirements and the formulating of project plans with schedules and associated breakdowns. The Junior Project Manager will then manage the project from conception to delivery, with a firm focus on meeting agreed costs, scope and timescales whilst managing stakeholder expectations.
The Group Property network is embarking on an unprecedented period of change with new centre openings, reconfiguration of the warehouse network, surrendering the leases of surplus property as well as the exiting of trading centres. The Junior Project Manager will play a pivotal role in ensuring that the work streams being carried out by various departments are fully aligned to ensure that each project is completed on time, on budget and with maximum efficiency.
This permanent role is based upon 40hrs per week between Monday and Friday, operating on a hybrid basis to likely include two to three days per week visiting projects. This will involve regional and national travel as required by the business, so your base location would ideally be centrally located, with a full UK Cat B drivers licence essential to your application.
Key accountabilities
- Assist the Group Project Manager with the planning, executing, and closing of projects within the Property Department.
- Develop comprehensive project plans outlining tasks, timelines and resource requirement.
- Identify project requirements, schedules and costs with relevant Stakeholders.
- Maintain accurate project documentation including plans, reports and error log for future reference and improvement.
- Monitoring project performance to ensure timely delivery.
- Take a proactive approach to resolving issues or raise exception/issue reports to the necessary stakeholders/sponsor.
- Identify areas of improvement to increase efficiency.
- Maintain effective communication with stakeholders, team members and other relevant parties throughout the project
- Develop a clear understanding of the roles carried out in the Group Property department.
- Act as an ambassador for ETEL’s company values and behaviours at all times.
Skills & experience
- Demonstrable previous experience in a Project Manager role or past experience as being part of a project team.
- Drive and tenacity to deliver the highest level of performance.
- Understand the customer and consistently present a positive image of the department
- Excellent communication and influencing skills particularly with stakeholders and with external audiences.
- Highly organised with the ability to work calmly under pressure and manage multiple demands whilst maintaining quality and accuracy with minimal supervision.
- Demonstrable logical and analytical approach, with a good level of numeracy.
- A commitment for continuous improvement and self-development.
- Have experience or a demonstrable interest in construction
- Full UK Drivers Licence - (Essential)
- Familiar with PRINCE2 methodology or qualified to PRINCE2 Foundation level.
