Main Purpose and objectives of the role
• Assist with procurement and supply chain management for the purpose of
obtaining quality products on time and at a reasonable cost.
• Assist with and maintain communications with customers giving feedback on
quality, deliveries, and any future sales opportunities.
Main duties and responsibilities
• Sourcing, selecting, monitoring and management of suppliers.
• Conduct cost comparison with approved suppliers.
• Daily calls to suppliers to update delivery schedule.
• Manage and escalate cost quality and delivery issues as required.
• First point of contact on disputes and claims with Suppliers.
• Ensure compliance with all terms and conditions, including price, schedule and
quality when processing authorised purchase orders to approved suppliers.
• Providing pricing and lead-time input for all material and treatments according
to customer requirements.
• Works Order Administration.
• Purchase consumables and operational supplies as required.
• Supplier visits as required.
• Attend Trade shows.
Maintain integrity of company’s MRP system
• Ensures that highly complex or critical subcontract material or service
requirements are adequately defined in coordination with the ME Team on both
new and established products.
• Ensure all data related to procurement process in the MRP system is
maintained.
Actively pursue Lean processes
• Operate policies, lean initiatives and processes.
• Pursue best practices.
Manage Inventory levels for Raw Materials
• Ensure that Raw Material Inventory value is maintained at agreed target levels.
• Develop procurement strategy to ensure Inventory levels are minimised and all
stock is allocated before purchasing more, including dynamic burndown of
alternative resource.
Sales
• Daily Liaise with customers
• First point of contact on delivery, cost, and quality – escalate as required.
• Upsell where possible.
• Enquire on future opportunities.
• Customer visits as required.
• Attend Trade shows.
• Manage and maintain social media.
