Job Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated Indian Sous Chef to join our dynamic kitchen team. Reporting directly to the Head Chef, you will be instrumental in delivering exceptional food services and enhancing meal preparation quality within our facility. This role requires close collaboration with other service teams to uphold the highest standards of culinary excellence and resident satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership and Management:
- Assist the Head Chef in meeting all regulatory and statutory requirements and adhering to company policies.
- Manage accurate and timely reporting related to catering operations.
- Control food stock levels to meet budgetary constraints and expenditure targets.
- Address any issues identified in internal and external audits promptly.
- Support the Head Chef in the inventory management of kitchen equipment and dining essentials.
Hospitality Services:
- Uphold the highest standards of catering service and residential dining experiences.
- Advocate for resident choice and dignity through high-quality food services.
- Ensure meals meet the dietary needs of all residents.
- Conduct and report on kitchen audits to maintain continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with suppliers to ensure value and quality in service delivery.
- Work with the Head Chef to innovate dishes and achieve targeted gross profit margins.
- Engage with residents to ensure services are respectful of their lifestyle choices and dignity.
Health and Safety:
- Maintain responsibility for the health and safety of the kitchen staff, residents, and visitors.
- Ensure compliance with health regulations and maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene.
- Manage kitchen equipment and environment safety.
- Handle the demands of lifting heavy objects when necessary.
Experience:
- Minimum of two years in a catering role, preferably within a busy kitchen environment.
- Proven track record in a hotel, restaurant, or care home, delivering high-quality services.
- Comprehensive knowledge of health and safety regulations.
Skills/Knowledge:
- Strong leadership and management capabilities.
- Excellent communication skills across various mediums.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Ability to adapt and manage change effectively.
Personal Qualities:
- Reliable, punctual, and approachable.
- Confident, diplomatic, and enthusiastic with a positive attitude.

- Flexible approach to working hours, including occasional weekends and evenings.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: £28,500.00-£39,000.00 per year
