Job Title:Junior Web Developer

Location: Ingatestone, Essex (flexible working available)

Salary: Up to £28k per annum DOE

About You

We are looking for a Junior Web Developer to join our dynamic and friendly development team.

The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting with the creation of websites and updating and building new features on existing websites; coding, testing, design adjustments and integrations.

The role will also necessitate providing estimates for tasks and security updates.

We'll provide additional learning resources, regular progress meetings and dedicated time to help grow your skill set.

Role Specifics:

• Build on front end
• Build on back end
• Test website
• Popular website with all types of content
• Report back on performance
• Research - trends and software programmes
• Optimising websites after they have gone live
• A positive can-do attitude and keen to learn
• An ability to work autonomously as well as part of a team
• At least 1 year's commercial experience in web development

Experience Required:

• Experience with developing websites on wordpress
• Must have experience integrating different 3rd party plugins and software into websites
• Must be creative, driven & have an eye for detail

Requirements:

• Competent in CMS services: Wordpress, Shopify, etc
• An understanding of SEO principles and ensuring that the application will adhere to them
• Excellent organisational skills
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Someone who is optimistic, personal and friendly
• Someone who can take initiative
• Someone who driven to learn to add value to the team and their role in the business
• Excellent time keeping, focused & organised

Beneficial Skills

Any experience of the following would be beneficial, as we work with all of the following;

• Good working knowledge of HTML and CSS and the ability to work from designs
• Basic understanding of JavaScript and PHP
• Experience of Git and source control
• Proficient with JavaScript
• Proficient with PHP
• Previous experience from a digital agency
