Role - Electrical and Safety EngineerControl Systems
Location Office Based – Bellshill, Glasgow
Hours Full-Time, 37.5hrs per week, Flexible Hours
Salary Range £30k to £60k depending on experience

About the role


Following sustained business growth, exciting opportunities have become available for additional Electrical Engineers for Control Systems to join our team.


Our Electrical and Safety Engineers are responsible for reviewing project requirements and taking these to design, test and support the installation of the solution. This could be the design of a new control panel, modification to existing electrical infrastructure or a broad range of other services.


Our customers are manufacturing production sites and as we work in the whisky industry, our solutions will often be installed within hazardous areas (ATEX) due to alcohol vapour. There is opportunity to work on a variety of customer manufacturing sites, within a project team. There is a support network as well as broad training available to allow you to achieve your professional development goals, while putting learning into practice.


Main Responsibilities

  • Reviewing customer requirements
  • Production and review of requirements, design, drawings, test & user documentation
  • Supervision of panel builds including factory testing
  • Supervision of site installation works including site testing
  • Maintain and develop your technical skills to meet the demands of an ever changing and evolving environment
  • Liaising with the Project Manager at all stages of the project lifecycle.


The Candidate


What we need from you:

  • Be a dynamic and proactive team player who strives to deliver high-quality work at the highest level of customer service.
  • Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communications skills
  • You must be eligible to work in the UK and have a full UK driving licence.


Experienced in some of:

  • Hardware Selection & Design
  • Control Panel Design (PLC, IO, Networks)
  • Motor Control Centre Design (VSD and DOL)
  • Cabling Design (Including SLDs and Termination Schedules)
  • Instrumentation Review & Selection
  • COMAH Site Working
  • DSEAR/ATEX Compliance (eg BS EN 60079)
  • Functional Safety Systems (eg BS EN 61508/61511)
  • Production and Review of Hardware Design Specifications
  • Production and Review of Autocad Electrical Drawings
  • Production & Review of Cable Schedules
