Grade 1 Kitchen Assistant
1 x 10 Hours, Fixed Term contract initially until 31.8.2024, Term-time only plus inset days (45.28 paid weeks per year)
Salary will be pro-ratad and based on Grade 1 pay range for Full-time position (37 hours per week, Full Year) as of April 2023: £22,366)

Vacancy: 1 x 10 Hours permanent Grade 1 Kitchen Assistant required for immediate start.

The children, staff and governors of St Modwen’s Catholic Primary School are looking for a talented, dynamic, enthusiastic and experienced Kitchen Assistant to support the Catering Manager and Catering team to deliver our school meal/catering service. The catering service is run with the support of consultants School Food Solutions with whom you will have a close working relationship.

We have a very good school kitchen providing fresh and wholesome meals, including breakfast, to children, staff and visitors. We have the capacity to cook up to 400+ meals per day. We are looking to extend our business and therefore need someone with vision and a good business acumen.

You will need to be passionate and excited about your duties which will include: serving customers, business development, ordering, general cleaning and clearing and addressing any relevant staffing issues.

What skills and experience we're looking for: THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE THE ABILITY TO:
• Support fully our Catholic ethos, vision and values
• To assist in the operation of the catering service to the required standard of the school specifications laid down by the School Catering Service
• Basic preparation of food and beverages and cooking under supervision

• Transporting and serving meals, setting up and clearing away service points and dining equipment and furniture
• Washing up, cleaning kitchen, scullery, dining area, access areas and furniture equipment
• Friendly with a positive 'can-do' attitude
• Sense of humour!
