We are looking for an outstanding Kitchen Assistant/Catering Assistant who's passionate about food and wants to make a difference.
Your Responsibilities:
- Assist in all types of hot and cold food preparation, including special or therapeutic diets.
- Ensure compliance with Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points Policy and Legislative Practices, maintaining clean and hygienic cooking processes.
- Report equipment defects promptly and attend necessary training sessions.
- Clean and store equipment, provisions, crockery, cutlery, and utensils in a safe and hygienic manner, following department schedules and specifications.
Your Day-to-Day:
- Assist in the preparation of balanced, appetising meals.
- Perform cooking tasks and other kitchen duties.
- Ensure cleanliness of the kitchen, service areas, and dining room.
- Wash utensils, dishes, and ensure appropriate storage.
- Rotate stock and put away deliveries.
- Maintain personal hygiene to comply with standards and food hygiene regulations.
- Handle, maintain, and store kitchen equipment according to procedures.
- Use chemicals in line with Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH) regulations.
- You Are:
- Experienced in catering, preferably within a care setting.
- Holder of a food hygiene certificate with good personal hygiene standards.
- Enthusiastic, keen to learn, and an active team member.
- Polite and professional with a positive attitude.
- An excellent communicator able to liaise with people at all levels.
- Diligent and take pride in maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness.
- Able to work on your own initiative, as part of a team, and under supervision.
Successful candidates will be required to undergo an enhanced DBS check.
