Purpose of job:
To maintain the cleanliness of the kitchen to the standards laid down by The Horatio Group.
To assist the Head Chef and his team by producing clean cooking utensils and by presenting clean crockery and cutlery to all food service areas.
Main Duties:
Wash all outlet crockery and cutlery to company standards.
Thoroughly clean all pots, pans and other cooking utensils.
Clean all food production equipment, food production areas, fridges, freezer and work surfaces.
Thoroughly mop and clean floors and walls following set guidelines.
Store and transport goods as required.
Empty bins and ensure refuse areas are kept clean and tidy.
Operate cleaning machinery and look after it.
Use the cleaning machinery supplied in the recommended manner, economically and efficiently
Be knowledgeable and comply with the health, safety, hygiene, fire and security regulations and procedures of The Horatio Group. Also to ensure that all others are aware of their responsibilities in this regard. To use protective equipment available.
Always work in a clean and hygienic manner, maintaining a good standard of personal hygiene and appearance, being punctual for work and having a pleasant disposition.
Report to supervisor/manager when coming on duty
Ensure safe and careful handling of equipment and to keep breakage to a minimum.
Be vigilant and ensure no pilferage of any stock or property belonging to Botanic Inns Ltd.
Maintain a high level of co-operation with all other departments in the outlet.
Report all breakage, accidents, repairs and equipment faults to the Head Chef, Supervisor/Manager.
Be knowledgeable of the services provided by The Horatio Group
Occasional Duties:
To attend training courses as required.
To perform any other duties that may be requested by the Head Chef, any of the kitchen team or member of management.
