A dynamic hospitality group with a fast-expanding portfolio of restaurants, pubs and bars are recruiting within the flagship Hertford House Hotel site and we are currently looking for a Kitchen Porter, who will work in close collaboration with the kitchen staff.
Main responsibilities
To complete duties in the kitchen and service areas as directed that are necessary to ensure an efficient, hygienic service is provided.
To assist with food preparation as required.
To transport all food items, cleaning materials and laundry from the delivery area to kitchen store-rooms and to kitchen preparation areas as required.
Responsible for the cleaning of kitchen floors, walls, waste bins, hot plates, kitchen equipment, canopies, delivery areas, storerooms, walk in fridges, and all other areas as necessary to ensure an hygienic kitchen and service areas.
To clean, wash, dry and polish all kitchen equipment and service items by hand or machine in an efficient manner.
Operate all necessary sterilising equipment.
To operate all heavy equipment according to manufacturer’s instructions.
Responsible for the correct disposal and any recycling of all rubbish. Kitchen Finance
Check all stock against delivery orders and ensure correct items and correct quantity are delivered.
Account for all stock brought into site and store appropriately to minimise waste and loss.
Use equipment carefully to avoid breakage.
Assist in weekly and monthly stock-takes as directed. Health & Safety
To understand and comply with CH&CO and statutory health, hygiene and safety, quality standards including COSHH and HACCP ensuring all tasks are carried out in accordance with these standards in all areas of the site as outlined in the CH&CO handbook.
To decant all food items in delivery area and store in the appropriate containers to reduce the chance of cross contamination.

Salary: £8-10 per hour depending on experience
