Kitchen/Tea Room Assistant

The Role:

Hours Sunday - Thursday 9am-5pm (37.5 hours per week)

You will be required to assist the Tea Room and Kitchen, with the preparation of food within a controlled hygienic environment and play a vital part in the effective operation of the kitchen function. The Kitchen Assistant/Tea Room Assistant will also need to control stock, rotate foods, and monitor use by dates and ensure that the kitchen is kept in a clean and hygienic state at the end of every shift.

Key Responsibilities:

• Preparing and serving food in a timely manner
• Follow food handling and hygiene procedures, maintain a clean and organised work area.
• Meeting and greeting customers.
• Seating customers and taking orders.
• Support with serving, clearing and resetting in the Tea Room.
• Keeping all work surfaces clean in the kitchen to avoid cross contamination.
• To abide by all health & safety and environmental requirements as per the relevant legislation/regulations.
• Be aware of and adhere to COSHH guidelines.

About You:

You will have previous experience within a fast paced busy, kitchen environment, with the ability to prioritise and complete your allocated tasks during your set shift. Previous experience would be an advantage but not essential as we will provide you with the knowledge and understanding if you have the people qualities and share our core values.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: £11.50 per hour

Expected hours: 37.5 per week
