Lab Analyst (Microbiology/Chemistry)

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Temporary Full-Time Lab Analyst to join our client's team in Girvan. Job Description:
The main purpose of this position is to provide analytical support by conducting approved tests in accordance with raw materials and product test schedules. The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out physical, chemical, and microbiological tests, including viscosity, pH, moisture content, appearance, ash, particle size, pathogen testing, and the use of Soleris equipment.
Core Tasks Include:
- Advocating for safety in all job tasks and participating in site safety programs to prevent injury.
- Completing analysis according to test specifications, documenting results, and entering data into SAP.
- Ensuring the accuracy of results and timely communication to key stakeholders.
- Performing routine equipment calibration and daily checks as required.
- Participating in environmental monitoring and equipment validation.
- Maintaining Good Laboratory Practice and actively reviewing lab processes for continuous improvement.
- Conducting testing of raw materials and finished products, promptly and accurately.
- Investigating out-of-spec results and following control measures and standards.
- Maintaining laboratory area(s) and documentation to expected standards for inspection by customers and regulatory authorities.
- Participating in audits for laboratory and site initiatives as needed.
- Maintaining high standards of housekeeping, organisation, and documentation within the working environment.
- Undertaking any other reasonable duties to support Girvan operations.
Person Requirements:
Essential Requirements:
- HNC in a scientific discipline.
- 2-3 years' experience in a laboratory environment.
- Technical and practical understanding of laboratory equipment, procedures, and methods.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Good mathematical skills.
Desirable Requirements:
- Experience with SAP.
