Lab Scientist - Molecular Biology - Cardiff
The duration of the contract is 12 months initially.
The pay rate on offer is £13 - £18 per hour.
The location of the role is Cardiff.

The Genomics & Diagnostics Solutions Customised Services Team
The Customised Solutions team is part of the business' Diagnostic & Genomic Solutions business. Based in Cardiff, the team work exclusively with external, global customers to deliver proof of principle samples before scaling up and transferring the product to manufacturing. Our services cover custom conjugation using SeraMag magnetic beads, lyophilisation using our Lyo-Stable service, contract manufacturing (fill & finish), custom filter plates and customisation of our catalogue products.
What you'll do:
- Chromatography resin preparation following approved protocols.
- Interpreting results, preparing reports and experiment write ups.
- Contribute to the day-to-day running of laboratory operations, including but not limited to, monitoring of consumables levels, preparing reagents, maintaining inventory.
- Scheduling and prioritising workload to ensure turnaround times are maintained.
- Prepare samples for international shipping.
Who you are:
Essential;
- Degree in a life science discipline, preferably chemistry or biology.
- Experience working in a laboratory environment.
- Accurate with a strong focus on attention to detail.
- Excellent oral, written, presentation and communication skills.
- Ability to work quickly and accurately, with limited supervision, good user of initiative when required.
Desirable but not essential;
- Resin based protein purification techniques.
- Experience working within a scientific manufacturing environment.
- Experience transferring products from R&D into large scale manufacturing.
- Working in a scientific customer facing role
