We are currently looking for a Laboratory Manager to join a growing biotechnology company based in the Cambridgeshire area.
As the Laboratory Manager you will be responsible for safe and smooth day to day running of laboratory operations, including health and safety compliance, facilities, hygiene, stock levels and maintenance and calibration of equipment.
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Your duties as the Laboratory Manager will be varied however the key duties and responsibilities are as follows:
1. Ownership of the required H&S compliance processes in the laboratories including maintenance, implementation and training of related policies and procedures and maintaining up-to-date records for MSDS and COSHH and risk assessment.
2. Upholding good housekeeping and good laboratory practices. Managing stock, ordering, receipt, delivery and storage of laboratory consumable items. Overseeing the maintenance, calibration, and verification of laboratory equipment.
3. Taking responsibility for the induction of new team members into the laboratories, including laboratory safety, protocols, and general housekeeping. Assisting with the delivery of training in laboratory and equipment procedures. A proactive participant in the identification and resolution of related non-conformances.
4. Generating, reviewing and approving of related documentation including SOPs, risk assessments and other controlled documents. Upholding compliance with company PQMS policies and procedures.
5. Acting as the main contact with external contractors to arrange and manage repairs, maintenance, waste collection, and lab-coat cleaning. Managing relationships with suppliers.
ROLE REQUIREMENTS:
To be successful in your application to this exciting opportunity as the Laboratory Manager we are looking to identify the following on your profile and past history:
1. Proven industry experience working in a chemistry or analytical laboratory setting. In addition, you will have a thorough understanding and experience of current laboratory H&S requirements.
3. We are looking for someone who is a self starter who can carry out multiple tasks concurrently. You will have excellent communication skills, and work well in a collaborative team.
